There are many ways to earn extra income both in the real world and online. You have probably already come across websites that teach you to make "easy money" or "fast money". Most of these ways are really not worth your time. It will be difficult for you to persist for a long time, and in the end it is a small amount of money. Common examples of such ways are paid surveys, payment for viewing advertisements, reading ads, pyramids of various kinds, etc.

The first time I was looking for income from home I came across such sites. I signed up for a site for filling out surveys and viewing advertisements. After about 20 surveys and 15 advertisements I got tired. I earned 2 shekels for the surveys, and 75 shekels for watching the ads... and I realized that salvation would not come from here.

Since then, many years have passed. I graduated with a degree in engineering, built websites and online stores, shot videos, developed apps and most of all, found ways to generate additional income with reasonable effort. During the process, I was exposed to a lot of worlds, I made a lot of connections, mainly I saw how people who were not the "sharpest pencils in the pencil case" made crazy sums. So what are the ways that work to create additional sources of income?

Not only is online money a very real thing, it's also the future. More than that, in an age where Facebook, Google and Amazon are among the 10 largest companies in the world, this is a ridiculous question.

If you are still skeptical, I am ready to show you my income for the last month from various sources on the Internet while I travel, have fun, and work a few hours a week on maintenance. (about NIS 10,000) and I'm just a beginner and lazy...

4 ways to generate additional income through the Internet

Way 1 - passive income from YouTube videos:Sometimes a 30 second video can get millions of views. You can make videos with any camera on your phone, and you don't need anything more than a little creativity. People filmed their rabbit eating watermelon received 2 million views.

Later you can build a channel with followers, and upload more videos. There is much room for improvement and growth. Once your video is out there it can generate monthly income for you that will last for a long time. And today with social networks the distribution of a funny/interesting video will be faster than ever.

Way 2 - Investing in the capital market: The richest people in the world invest in the capital market, and not only them. Banks, training funds, insurance companies, and even government bodies invest in the capital market on a regular basis. And if such large entities invest there, there is probably a good reason for it.

Way 3 - online stores 

The most profitable method in 2018. How do you make money from it? simple. Buy cheap, sell at market price. Like any business we know more or less. The online shopping market is growing tremendously, when (according to The Marker newspaper) in 2017 there were purchases totaling 14 billion dollars, just from Israel (compared to 11.7 in 2016).

Setting up a physical store involves bureaucracy that lasts for months, and costs hundreds of thousands of shekels. You can open your own online store in a few hours. Instead of buying goods for tens of thousands of shekels (because who goes to an empty store?) you can start with goods worth a few hundred shekels, and if you want to save that too, you can sell other people's goods (droppings).

So how do you start?

A - Selling products on Amazon

Shopping on Amazon has several advantages. The first is the credibility that Amazon has among customers. The second advantage is the fact that there are already surfers there who buy all the time. If you have positive reviews you can get traffic (customers) for free.

If so, opening a store on Amazon also has several disadvantages. The competition is not easy, it is difficult to delete bad comments, and there is a tough refund policy and more.

Despite everything, a friend who studied engineering with me opened a store on Amazon. His record was 4328$ sales in one day on Black Friday. (American shopping holiday). B - Selling products in your own store - 

A better alternative, in my opinion, is to create your own shop in Shopify. In such a store you can retain the customers and market to them, set the terms, bring surfers without fear that they will buy from the competitors, control the language, design the store and more.

- Additional work from home as freelancers: If you have any knowledge and skill you can provide service as a freelancer and get paid easily. If, for example, you are a web designer, you can sign up for online job sites, search for jobs yourself or enter the employee database and wait for someone to contact you. In the case of other fields, you can write articles, produce videos and provide content in a field you understand for a fee (from martial arts to dog training).

There are several sites to do it in Hebrew, but many more sites where you can offer your talent in English. If you have knowledge of programming and design it will be really good, but even if you don't have any special skill you can write articles, translate, create icons with free and fast software, animated videos and more.

The more professional you become, the more money you will be able to take, and the jobs will be done much faster. From $10 for half an hour's work to an hour it will become $15 for 20 minutes' work and it only gets better and better over time.

A site with an interesting concept is fiverr. The works start at 5$, but sometimes this work can take you 5 minutes. For example, reading text for advertisements in Hebrew. In addition, there are possibilities to make larger offers on 10$, 20$ and even on 100$. Way 5 – Private tutorials:  Although they laugh a lot about teachers' salaries, I recently saw an article that surprised me. The demand for private teachers exceeds the supply and a private teacher can easily earn NIS 100-150 per hour.

If you are strong in real subjects (for example if you are engineers/economists, etc.) you can give private math lessons at a slightly lower price but still worthwhile. Even if you are not strong in the field of study, you can take something you are good at and teach other people.

Do you play the guitar well? You can teach people to play! A great way to generate extra income and have fun while doing it if you ask me. If you are great in the kitchen, offer cooking lessons at a fair price (eg NIS 50 per hour) and you will have many buyers.

Way 6 - affiliate marketing

Affiliate marketing for beginners Booking, Amazon and chains is the marketing of other products for receiving a certain commission. How It Works? Large companies (for example Groupon) pay commissions for every referral from a customer who bought/left details (with).

The job is to get people to buy the offers. You don't have to bring them physically, just have them come through your link. How do you bring people? Any platform where there are many people is relevant. A YouTube video, an Instagram page, a blog, a Facebook group, even comments to articles. In my opinion, the secret to success is to market products that you would also buy. The sale becomes much more natural and easier this way, and the appropriate words will also flow to you easily.

The usual way - job sites: The truth is that this is my least favorite way, but it is important to mention it as well. This is, so to speak, the "usual way" to earn extra money - to find a second job. What is special about jobs of this type? It's just that they will be at hours that fit in with your regular job.

For example, evening jobs, shifts twice a week on weekends, working early in the morning or late at night, and sometimes even just temporary projects for one or two days, conferences, performances, etc. Just register by searching for "additional income" on the major job sites such as alljob jobs and more. And you will find something that will fit well with your work.

In many cases in life you reach a situation where you have no choice and you have to work 2 jobs. It is very abrasive and difficult and it is a situation I would try to avoid as much as possible. An increase in the current salary and a promotion, moving to a better and more rewarding workplace + supplementing income in another way is the direction you should strive for.
