Easy money after the army
I was released together with 4 other friends. After 3 years the time has come. We organized a crazy release party and enjoyed every moment. After two weeks or so of fun resting and going out, everyone started looking for a job. One worked as a waitress, the other worked at a gas station on the preferred path, the third flew to work abroad. Each tried a different direction.
During the two years after the release, we moved between many temporary jobs. In some of them we suffered a lot for minimum wage, and in some of them we earned well, had fun and developed. We came to very interesting conclusions and will immediately share them with you.
The first conclusion is that you can earn more abroad. There are more opportunities and money has a different value. But before we talk about working abroad, we will talk to you about the 3 main ways in which you can make good money in Israel as well:
3 jobs after the army where you can earn the most in Israel without an education
First place: private lessons - Good at math or English? Do you know how to teach well? This is your chance to profit from it. Today, professional private teachers charge between NIS 100-150 for a 50-minute lesson. And people... wait in line with them. So it's true, you're not a teacher and you don't have a teaching certificate, but even if you take students at a much cheaper price than the usual price, you'll probably earn NIS 70-80 an hour.
Second place: bartenders/waiters - Bartenders and waiters at the big parties
It is very important to note - there is a big difference between the "smart bartenders" and the "ordinary bartenders" and that is the location. Bartenders at festivals and huge parties will earn much more than bartenders in a calm and quiet bar. A 4-5 hour beach party will be much more profitable than a 10 hour evening shift at a regular bar. Tune yourself to the right places.
3 useful tips that will help you increase the tip
A. We indulged where possible - in many cases you can pamper the customers at the expense of the house. Identify the customers who will probably leave a generous tip and pamper them at the expense of the house. They are usually in a good mood, ordering a lot of food and drink "and their hand is light on the wallet".
B. The customer is always right - it's not always true, but it's related to your tip that's how it works.
third. A short small talk - sometimes a funny light conversation of 10 seconds can make the difference between a 5 shekel tip and a 10. It won't take much time and effort from you, but it will definitely pay off.
Third place: sales agents - Insurance, aviation, cell phone and car companies are known for the high commissions they pay and the large sums available for each sale. To work in sales you don't need a degree, or to be a graduate of a technological unit. All that is needed is a little personal charm and a lot of desire to succeed.
Instead of working at a job where you will earn minimum wages with no possibility of improvement like working as a cashier at a gas station, and looking after children at a gymboree, work at a place with bonuses that will increase as you get better. This way, as time goes by, you will earn money easier and better. Salespeople at the beginning of their career, in these fields full-time earn between NIS 5500-8000 a month.
* Of course you can always also try to make money in the capital market, but for that we wrote you an article specifically about The capital market for beginners.
And what about working abroad? Do you really earn easy money there?
Working abroad in many cases will allow you to earn amounts that you can only dream of after release in Israel. But... it is very important to do it legally. There have already been many cases in which Israelis were caught, deported from the country, received heavy fines and a black stamp, in some cases even in prison
You should know that there is no "easy money" and free gifts abroad either. The difference is that abroad those who work hard and are good at what they do can earn 3-4 times more than those who work the same job in Israel.
You can work legally in 3 ways that I know of
1. Working holiday visa - The permit provides you with the opportunity to work abroad for a year in one of the countries Australia, New Zealand, or Germany. To obtain the permit, you need to go to their immigration website and submit an application under Israel in the appropriate place. It is recommended to check now when the allocations open (usually once a year) because which is on a first come, first served basis.
2. work permits - In many cases, especially in the fields of security, the workplace will already take care of your approval. What is needed is mainly to look for the company you will work for, and in the case of security, also a suitable military background (Rifle 03 and above).
3. foreign passport - If you have relatives who were born in different countries in the world, so you can check it right now. A European passport for example will give you the option to live in Europe and work legally whenever you want and for as long as you want! Although the process requires bureaucracy and money, it is a one-time investment that will accompany you for life.

So what jobs do you work abroad?
1. Security – If you are veterans of combat units, in many places in the world it will be a serious advantage. From the security of embassies and senior figures, to the security of ships and training of military forces. 3 years experience in the army + training is a much more impressive experience than what most citizens have in most countries. In the vast majority of security positions the pay is very rewarding, but the downside is the risk.
2. Sales – A job in the field of sales is most common abroad. Its advantage is that in terms of salary - the sky is the limit! The numbers that are talked about in advertisements are real, and even more than that. If so, be prepared that not everyone succeeds in selling at the beginning, and that learning to sell can take time.
3. Locksmithing, agriculture and transport - In many places (for example Australia and New Zealand) the life expectancy is much higher than in Israel. The minimum wage there is much higher, especially in the physical jobs and you can even reach 1000 dollars a week, without anyone seeing it as unusual.
In any case, life is still long and there are many opportunities. Choose one opportunity and start living!
